Local Policies and Joint Actions Released in Many Places to Keep Improving Payment Convenience

Under the central government’s guidance in March, 2024 to improve payment service and raise payment convenience, relevant policies and actions have been released in many places around China to break barriers, optimize services, extend scenarios and thus to continuously build and improve secure, convenient and efficient payment environment.

@Beijing: A list of 22 tasks to implement payment convenience project;

@Shanghai: to extend payment scenarios and keep optimizing “Shanghai Program”;

@Guangzhou: to optimize local payment environment and build national “Central Consuming City”;

@Shenzhen: to build general payment demonstration area through 11 actions;

@Chengdu: to build compatible and coordinated payment ecosystem;

@Hubei: to build multi-level and diversified payment ecosystem;

@Henan: to enrich payment service supplies and improve province-wide payment service quality;

@Yunnan: to build all-scenario payment environment and set specialized demonstration scenario;

@Jilin: to generally plan online & offline payment infrastructure and realize significant improvement of payment environment;

@Hainan: to establish 5 payment ecosystems and build demonstration city of payment convenience

To practise “payment for people” and provide industrial support, BCTC is taking actions:

l  Efficient “Green-light Channel” for bankcard acceptance device testing projects;

l  “One-stop” service covering all big-6 payment schemes for global issuers, acquirers and their device & software suppliers;

l  ATM security evaluation to protect card & cash security in China.
