Recently, Bank Card Test Center
(hereinafter referred to as "BCTC") has completed the test of two
versions (Android 10/Q and Android 11/R) of the face recognition algorithm
product of the ThunderSoft. BCTC also assisted the customers to complete the
Google Approved List filing. This is the first batch of Google face recognition
product testing completed by BCTC since the lab was accredited as the first
Android biometric security laboratory in the Asia-Pacific region in August
2020.
According to the document "Android
Biometric Security Test Protocols-Android 11 (R | 2020)" released by
Google on August 30, 2020, Google proposes minimum biometric security policy
requirements for face recognition products based on different versions of
Android:
1) On the Android 10/Q, products that
support Face 2DClass 3 (Strong) must be tested in a third-party laboratory.
2) On the Android 11/R, products that
support Face 2DClass 3 (Strong) and Class 2 (Weak) must be tested in an Android
accredited laboratory.
3) On the Android 12/S, biological products
that support Class 3 (Strong) and Class 2 (Weak) must be tested in an Android
accredited laboratory.
At present, BCTC is providing testing
services for some Android ecosystem companies to help domestic and
international partners obtain product certification as soon as possible. In the
future, BCTC will closely monitor and track the latest developments in
biometric technology, continue to ensure the security and compliance of
biometric technology products, and provide complete one-stop biometric testing
services and solutions for all parties in the industry.
